The Women’s Major Group (WMG) is committed to strengthening women’s meaningful participation and dramatically accelerating SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) implementation and accountability. We have three recommendations for tackling structural inequalities, discrimination, and violence and to ensure the SDGs truly benefit those who are marginalised and systemically excluded. The recommendations aim to strengthen:
- The interlinks between the SDGs and human rights
- The synergies between the SDGs and other UN processes
- Women’s meaningful participation
Delaying action for women and girls is not an option. The time is now for women’s leadership and a women’s rights and peace agenda for every women and every girl of every age, place, ability and status, and for all of us!
